BASF SE is hiring an Executive-EHS for their Dahej, Gujarat site. The role involves overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) excellence, managing wastewater treatment operations, hazardous waste, and compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include accident investigation, training, and maintaining operational standards. Candidates should have a B.Sc. in Chemistry/Environment and 7-10 years of relevant experience. This is a full-time position with shift activities.
Objectives of the Position:
• Responsible for Establishing, Preparing, Planning and Directing for the implementation of Responsible Care Management systems and ensure the highest degree of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Excellence.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities:

(A) Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for Environment Management at Site including WWTP operation & Hazardous waste management
• Implementation of RC programs at WWTP.
• Involve in Investigate, compile, analyze, interpret and report accidents, loss and exposure statistical data, prepare comprehensive recommendations for improvements/corrective actions to eliminate/minimize potential hazards.
• Smooth operation of WWTP & Hazardous waste management.
• Conduct awareness programm into the WWTP & impart the training in department.
• Ensure & Monitor all parameters related to environment at Dahej site as per rules & regulations.
• Ensure all applicable laws and regulation pertaining to environment, health and safety are understood, tracked and update the management and necessary action is taken to comply.
• Involve & support for implementation & update the system of IMS & EnMS at WWTP.
• This is the shift activities & operation 24 x 7 for WWTP operation.
• Responsible for to maintain and keep machines in good condition in order to facilitate continuous operation of WWTP.
• Perform day to day operation activities & maintain the healthy condition of WWTP plant.
• Manage the hazardous waste management system & prepare the manifest as per hazardous waste management rules.
• Responsible for operation & maintain the operation parameters as per requirement.
• Analysis & record the wastewater sample & take the appropriate action based on sample results.
• Prepare the ED pretreatment batch as per sample results.
• To manage the contract people for routine activity at WWTP plant.
• Coordinate with hazardous waste management agencies & transporter.

B) RCMS Responsibility:
• Executive is responsible to support & implement the RCMS at WWTP.
• Support to understand & implement Environment related applicable Government Laws, Acts, Amendments, Rules & Regulations and other Statutory requirements at Dahej site.
• Support to maintain the RC records and statistics including the following:

a) RC Tracker

b) Accidents investigation and reporting
• Enforce compliance with the Site RC
• Take action according to the Emergency Plans
• Organizing and Management of …

a) Fire Fighting Equipment in coordination with Utility

b) Personal Protective Equipment

c) RC Trainings, Inspections and Committees.

e) Safety Audits, Environment Audits, and RC Audits
• Implementation of RCMS as defined in the Manual.

Job Requirements:
• Education: B.Sc. Chemistry/Environment
• Working experience: Working experience in between 7 to 10 years
• Technical & Professional knowledge: Responsible Care Management System, Operation of Waste Water Treatment Plant, Work Place Safety, Near Miss, EHS law compliance, Incident Investigation
