The Opportunity

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering community engagement events and programs as part of the 1Coast collaboration between Cleanaway and Central Coast Council. This role plays a key part in fostering community participation, raising awareness of sustainability initiatives, and strengthening partnerships between Cleanaway, Central Coast Council, and the broader community. This role is a 12-month fixed term contract with a possibility of further extension.

Key Responsibilities Will Include, But Not Be Limited To
• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Sustainable Futures Festival, ensuring all elements align with strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Central Coast Council, local businesses, schools, and community groups.
• Represent Cleanaway and 1Coast at events, meetings, and public engagements, ensuring a professional and engaging presence.
• Manage event logistics, including venue bookings, permits, supplier coordination, and scheduling.
• Create high-quality event materials, signage, and digital content and implement event promotion strategies across media, social platforms, and community networks to maximize engagement.
• Manage event budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery and identify opportunities for efficiencies, sponsorships, and partnerships to enhance festival impact and sustainability.
• Ensure all events align with sustainability principles and reflect Cleanaway’s and the Central Coast Council’s environmental goals.

About You
• Relevant qualifications in event management, communications, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and event promotion tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required for event delivery.
• Valid Australian Driver’s License (Unrestricted).
