Ethanol Production Operator

About the position

The Andersons, Inc. is seeking an entry level Production Operator to join our Ethanol production team. This position is responsible for the daily plant operation functions associated with the production of fuel ethanol and associated co-products. Training is provided, and the facility operates 24x7 with two shifts per day. Daily schedules include weekend work on a rotating basis, and candidates must be flexible to work either day or night shift based on business needs. Night shift assignments receive a $2.00 shift differential.

Responsibilities
• Perform processing functions in the cook, distillation, energy center and/or distributed control system (DCS) areas of ethanol production with assistance.

• Perform activities relating to processing functions such as corn grinding and cook operations, yeast and fermentation quality control, yeast, distillation, evaporation, dryer and boiler operations.

• Monitor production processes and adjust equipment settings or raw materials inputs as directed to ensure optimal efficiency in the production process.

• Perform general product sampling, lab testing, document results, and report findings to crew leadership and/or laboratory personnel.

• Maintain documentation and record key production data as directed.

• Operate various types of mobile equipment.

• Perform general housekeeping tasks.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

• 0-2 years’ relevant experience required.

• Basic computer operation and data entry skills.

• Ability to operate mobile equipment and/or a valid driver’s license preferred.

• Previous production experience preferred.
