Job Description

HR Genie is seeking an ESG Sustainability Specialist in Cape Town, South Africa. The role involves developing ESG frameworks, analyzing performance, collaborating with investment teams, preparing reports, and monitoring global trends. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 3-5 years of relevant experience, and strong analytical and communication skills. The position requires proficiency in data analysis tools and is a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and Maintain ESG Frameworks: Utilize industry best practices and regulatory requirements to create and maintain comprehensive ESG reporting frameworks.
• Analyze ESG Performance: Conduct thorough analysis of the ESG performance of portfolio companies, providing actionable insights to inform investment decisions.
• Collaborate with Investment Teams: Work closely with South African venture funds and management teams to integrate ESG considerations into investment reporting, ensuring alignment with client needs.
• Prepare ESG Reports: Develop comprehensive ESG reports for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, leveraging data analysis tools and software to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Monitor Global ESG Trends: Stay up-to-date on global ESG trends and regulatory changes, applying this knowledge to enhance reporting processes and ensure compliance.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor's degree in finance, environmental science, sustainability, economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, ESG certification) is highly valued.
• Professional Experience: Possess 3-5 years of experience in ESG reporting, sustainability consulting, or a related analysis role within asset management or financial services.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in using data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, ESG reporting software), as well as presentation tools such as MS PowerPoint or other.
• Soft Skills: Exhibit strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear, creative, and concise manner.

• Excellent Communication: Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing reports and analyzing data.
• Collaboration and Project Management: Show the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
