Your Team Responsibilities

We are looking to expand our Sustainability and Climate Consultants team in France. MSCI is a leading provider of Sustainability and Climate data, models and tools to different financial markets participants globally. Successful candidates will have relevant experience working on a wide range of Sustainability and Climate topics (risk management, sustainability strategy, compliance, product creation, etc.) at Asset Managers, Penson Funds, Banks, Insurance companies or consultancies covering financial institutions. They also exhibit a passion for these issues.

To succeed in the role a consultant must have proven abilities to develop strong working relationships with external clients, learn MSCI Sustainability and Climate solutions and guide clients to better use those solutions in the context of each client specific requirements also leveraging other MSCI Analytics, Index or Private Capital solutions.

Consultants are adaptable, eager problem solvers, and able to lead cross-organization projects in highly diverse teams. Great communications skills are a must as they represent MSCI Sustainability and Climate to all levels of client management.

Your Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities cover a wide spectrum including proactive account management and client communication, account retention rates, contract value growth and pre-sales activities. In the pre-sales role, the Consultants partners with the sales team, bringing industry and product expertise to initial client meetings. After a client has begun using MSCI Sustainability and Climate solutions, the Consultant owns and manages the client experience. This entails offering proactive support, expertise on MSCI Sustainability and Climate solutions and market insights relevant to each client use case. Key responsibilities include:

Sustainability and Climate Expertise Focus
• Act as a trusted advisor for clients and their advocate within MSCI Sustainability and Climate Research
• Serve as domain expert on MSCI Sustainability and Climate solutions and services
• Leverage cutting edge MSCI solutions to deliver a holistic approach to clients’ Sustainability and Climate investing challenges
• Proactively communicate and educate clients on key Sustainability and Climate matters, providing subject matter expertise in pre-sales/up-sell/on-boarding activities
• Build-up Sustainability and Climate industry expertise to guide clients in integrating these considerations into their investments processes

Relationship Management Focus
• Achieve target renewal rate, drive revenue growth with outstanding client engagement and service
• Develop/drive account management plans for all clients; Monitor and ensure client satisfaction
• Identify accounts at risk and create a plan to ensure revenue and client retention, working with cross-functional teams to address issues in a timely manner
• Conduct regular calls/visits with clients (health checks, training, relationship planning and review), requiring some professional travel
• Act as liaison between the clients and internal MSCI Sustainability and Climate Research teams for key client initiatives
• Take ownership for projects to help improve client service delivery and team efficiency

Your skills and experience that will help you excel
• 1-3 years of experience working on a wide range of Sustainability and Climate topics (risk management, Sustainability strategy, compliance, product creation, etc.) at Pension Funds, asset Managers, Banks, Insurance companies or consultancies covering financial institutions.
• Good understanding of the Sustainability and Climate markets and how Sustainability and Climate factors impact capital markets
• Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills. Fluency in English and French is required.
• Innovative, motivated, client-oriented and commercially aware thinker
• Demonstrated project management skills - define scope, resources and timelines and manage to deliverables
• A team player able to effectively manage the expectations of a diverse and demanding client base
• Absolute personal and business integrity
• Specific Experience in Sustainable Finance regulation would be advantageous.
• MBA, CFA charter or master’s degree preferred
