Job Description
NV Energy is hiring an Equipment Operator II in Reno, NV. The role involves operating various rubber-tired excavation equipment and may include clerical tasks and training assistance. Candidates should have prior experience or training and must pass a skills proficiency evaluation. The position is regulated by DOT and requires drug testing. Compensation ranges from $43.05 to $44.93 per hour, with various benefits offered.
Responsibilities
8774 OPERATOR, EQUIPMENT II
An employee who has progressed through the Equipment Operator I classification, or has equivalent experience and is qualified by training and operating experience to perform special construction work using rubber tired excavation equipment such as loaders, and combination back hoe/loaders with rated capacities not exceeding one and one-half (1 1/2) cubic yards for loader buckets and one half (1/2) cubic yard for back hoe buckets boom trucks, forklifts, etc. (type of equipment may vary by department). May be required to complete job related clerical work and assist in training.
After two (2) years of Equipment Operator II, progression to Equipment Operator III classification will occur upon successful demonstration of Equipment Operator II skills and department specific skills during two (2) years of Equipment Operator II classification. Refer to Equipment Operator Progression Guidelines.
Bidding note 16 applies: Bidder must pass a skills proficiency evaluation.

Additional Requirements
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) under the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). Any applicant/employee who will perform on a pipeline, an operating, maintenance, or emergency response function regulated by Part 192, 193, or 195, will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company's PHMSA drug and alcohol testing programs. Any employment, transfer, or promotion offer made for this position is contingent upon taking and passing a drug test prior to the commencement of the new role. If an applicant/employee fails the drug test, any offer of employment, transfer, or promotion will be revoked.
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant/employee who is licensed and would operate a commercial vehicle for the Company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the Company’s FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs. Any employment, transfer, or promotion offer made for this position is contingent upon taking and passing a drug test prior to the commencement of the new role. If an applicant/employee fails the drug test, any offer of employment, transfer, or promotion will be revoked.

Compensation
$43.05 to $44.93 per hour. Potential Safety Bonus 2%. The company reserves the right to determine the number of positions awarded for this requisition.
