Environmental Technician - Temporary

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a Temporary Environmental Technician to join our Eastern Biology Department. The position reports to our Foxborough, Massachusetts office with the ability to work remotely, ideally from Massachusetts or Rhode Island.This is a temporary position scheduled to begin Mid-May of 2025 and finish Mid-September of 2025.

Job Summary Of Roles And Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist with field assessments for wetland and ecological projects located in the Northeast while occasionally offering support to projects throughout the mid-Atlantic.Field work may require long days outside in variable weather and terrain. Approximately 75% of the time will be field tasks and 25% of the time will be office tasks, depending on project needs. Projects may require overnight travel. Candidates must be prepared to maintain a positive attitude while working in physically challenging conditions.

Responsibilities Include
• Supporting wetland and waterbody delineations
• Environmental construction monitoring and reporting
• Organizing and summarizing field-collected data, compiling survey reports, and helping to draft permit applications
• Supporting habitat assessments or wildlife species surveys

Required Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, or related major
• Experience with GPS data collection systems
• Experience working outdoors
• Analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to quality with attention to detail and organizing data and reports
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Willing and able to travel throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and the Northeast
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Although not required, exposure to and experience with the following would be a plus:
• The Clean Water Act (CWA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA)
• Conducting ecological surveys such as wetland delineations
• The 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineations Manual and appropriate regional supplements is a plus
• Writing technical reports or permit applications

Base Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike.
