Environmental Technician I--Temporary Solutions

The State of North Carolina is hiring an Environmental Technician I for a temporary position in Raleigh, NC. The role involves conducting well testing for contaminated private wells, requiring knowledge of environmental principles and state regulations. This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Environmental Quality. This position is located at 217 W Jones St, Raleigh, NC 27603.The Division has numerous contaminated private wells where no responsible party has been identified. Wells required testing to determine level of toxicity to humans and to monitor migration of the contamination plume. For health and safety policy reasons, we must have two staff conduct chemical testing together. This temporary position would be involved in the well testing aspect of this work. The position would assist the primary person in charge in conducting well testing at various residences across the state. Sampling trips would be long day trips to the site for sampling and then delivery of samples to the laboratory.
