Superior Environmental Solutions is seeking an Environmental Technician for a day shift role in Glendale, OH. The position involves hazardous waste removal, sorting materials for recycling, and maintaining safety standards. The job requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Employees work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts. Environmental Services, a Division of Superior Environmental Services is looking for a safety-focused waste removal Environmental Technician (Industrial/Environmental) to join our dynamic team.
Work Schedule:
This position follows a 2-2-3 rotating schedule. Team members work Monday and Tuesday, have Wednesday and Thursday off, and then work Friday through Sunday. The following week, team members work Wednesday and Thursday and have the remaining days off. This rotation provides every other weekend off. Shifts are 12 hours, scheduled from 6:00 to 6:00 on a rotating day/night basis.
The first 3 months of employment will be at training in West Chester, OH
What you will be doing
Key responsibilities and functions may include, but are not limited to:
Hazardous waste removal from the facility
Sorting, cutting, baling, etc. nonhazardous material to prepare for recycling operations.
Separate processed materials into appropriate bins for recycling.
Will need to be able to lift 50 pounds, sustain frequent bending, and stand for an extended period of time.
The work environment includes an open warehouse, minimal noise levels, occasional fragrances, and manageable temperatures depending on the season
Record keeping
What skills we are looking for:
Qualifications
Team player
Excellent organization skills to be able to complete various forms, records, and reports
Forklift experience is a plus but not required
Familiarity with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other necessary warehouse equipment
Attention to detail is a must, as you will be inspecting products and keeping detailed records
Essential Functional Requirements:
Must be able to work full time, extended shifts of up to 12 hours
Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment
Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for the work; ability to lift or move at least 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
Must have reliable transportation
Must be safety conscious and have a good work ethic
Ensure equipment and company property is maintained in proper condition
Must be able to pass a pre-employment, random, and or post-accident/injury substance abuse screening
The use of safety gear is required
All necessary Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves/sleeves, and retractable box cutters will provide along with the necessary training to maintain a safe work environment
