The Board of Certified Safety Professionals is hiring an Environmental Technician in Mayetta, KS. Role:
The Environmental Technician (Brown fields Emphasis) is responsible for coordinating CERCLA 128a/Tribal Response Program activities in cooperation with the Environmental Manager to include capacity development, grant implementation and grant reporting. This position will also assist in the implementation of recycling, waste disposal, and general clean-up activities under the Tribal-funded waste management program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: MINIMUM: Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
PREFERRED: Five years to ten years of similar or related experience.
Education: MINIMUM: A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school in the field of Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, or related discipline.
PREFERRED: A Bachelor's degree in the field of Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, or related discipline.
Driving Requirements: Valid Kansas Class B CDL or willing to obtain within 120 days from hire. Must be insurable with the Nation's insurance carrier.
Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the PBPN for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Knowledge:
• General knowledge of biology, law and government, chemistry, the English language, and mathematics.
• Knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
