Project Technologist/ Senior Project Technologist

Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist or a Senior Project Technologist to join our Hazardous Materials team in our Hamilton Office.

Reporting to the Team Lead, the Technologist will conduct effective worker exposure and workplace monitoring, safety inspections and audits. You will assist in developing various types of hygiene, health and safety documentation, prepare technical reports and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met.

A Day in the life of a Technologist at Pinchin:

• Conduct site investigations – asbestos, mould, mercury, PCBs, lead etc.

• Collect and interpret various building material samples, air samples, and perform Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) analysis

• Conduct field work, including visits to sites and supervise remediation activities

• Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors

• Interpret and analyze sample results in relation to legislative requirements and industry-accepted guidelines

• Prepare technical reports

• Manage time of projects effectively and efficiently

• Liaise with clients and sub-contractors to ensure health, safety and hygiene needs are addressed and met

• Develop and maintain positive client relationships

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

• College diploma in Environmental, Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science or Applied Science in Engineering or equivalent

• Experience with building construction or maintenance is preferred

• Prior Hazardous Materials project experience (Senior Project Technologist position)

• Strong experience with AutoCAD preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills

• Self-directed and mature

• Excellent organizational skills

• High attention to detail

• Must be able to read technical specifications, drawings and reports

• Valid driver’s license, insurance and a personal vehicle required

• Availability to travel to clients’ sites (short-term work-related travel)

• Availability to work outside of core business hours

• Availability to work occasional weekends
