Job Description
Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is hiring an Environmental Technician for their St. Louis, MO location. The role involves operating and maintaining groundwater treatment systems, troubleshooting issues, collecting water samples, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, reside within a 45-minute response time to Festus, MO, and possess a valid driver's license. Training will be provided.
Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. (LEA) is seeking a Technicianfor our St. Louis, MO location. Enthusiastic and energetic, the successful candidate will ensure that clients' needs are met with the highest quality and the most intelligent engineering solutions.Primary responsibility is operation and maintenance of existing groundwater treatment systems to ensure compliance with state permits.

Responsibilities:
• Operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems (automated and manual components) in the St. Louis area with anticipated long-term assignment in Festus, MO.
• Troubleshoot system issues (mechanical and electronic)
• Collect water samples and perform data management
• Provide occasional short notice response to system alarms
• Oversee handling and transport of system derived wastes
• Provide operational updates to client and company
• Always maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
• Understand and adhere to strict safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as they are assigned
Required Skills and Abilities
• 2+ years' experience in at least one or a combination of the following fields: wastewater treatment, water treatment, construction, system operations, environmental science, or other outdoor fieldwork.
• Reside within 45 response time to Festus, MO area
• Mechanically inclined and self-motivated with demonstrated reliability, maintain a strong work ethic, exhibit time management skills, be organized and detail oriented, and perform work accurately both individually and in team environments
• Valid driver's license and be able to travel throughout Midwest with primary focus in east central Missouri and west central Illinois
• Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
• Ability to read/speak English, understand and follow operation manuals for a variety of mechanical and IT components
• Multiple years' experience with mechanical and electrical components a plus
New hire training to be provided by LEA (applicants that already have these skills/certs a plus)
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
• 10-hr Construction Safety Certification
• Operation of an all-terrain forklift
• General mechanical skills to calibrate equipment, clean and replace pumps, valves, sensors, etc.
• General computer skills for operating a system PLC and submitting daily/monthly reports
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, hiking, and standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Mobility control of hands to setup equipment and operate tools.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
• Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
