Job Description
Forrest Health is seeking an Environmental Tech in Richton, MS, responsible for cleaning, trash removal, and maintenance of hospital areas. The role includes maintaining equipment, handling chemicals, and interacting with patients and visitors. A high school diploma is preferred along with one year of experience in housekeeping or healthcare. The position requires good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Job Summary:
Performs cleaning and trash removal functions, carpet and hard surface maintenance, in all areas of the hospital on a routine and project basis. Will maintain equipment in clean, working condition; demonstrate knowledge of proper use of chemicals and other supplies. Will be responsible for moving furniture and equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers/shampooers, housekeeping carts, etc., and be exposed to various types of chemicals. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

• Demonstrate the ability to clean and maintain equipment.
• Demonstrate the ability to move furniture and equipment.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact with the patients, families and visitors for all age groups.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience:
One year previous work experience preferred. Previous experience in housekeeping or in healthcare field preferred.
Mental Demands:
Ability to perform repetitive tasks, accept disrupting work flow, take verbal/written instructions and follow them precisely, demonstrate cooperativeness, good judgment, initiative, ability to relate well to other people, work without close supervision, possess good verbal/written communication skills.
