Job Description
MedStar Health seeks an Environmental Services Aide for St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. Responsibilities include cleaning hospital rooms, maintaining environmental standards, and assisting with various cleaning tasks. The role involves customer service liaison duties and documentation of cleaning activities. A high school diploma or GED is required. MedStar Health is looking for an Environmental Services Aide to join our team at St. Mary’s Hospital!
As an Environmental Services Aide, you will perform duties as a customer service liaison between Environmental Services, Plant Operations and Food and Nutrition Departments. Washes walls, venetian blinds, woodwork, and light fixtures. Cleans hospital rooms and equipment upon discharge of patient. Uses powered and hand cleaning equipment.

Primary Duties:
• Performs environmental maintenance on nurse’s stations and office waiting areas, bathrooms, clean and soiled utility rooms by removing trash, cleaning horizontal surfaces (sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming floors).
• Assists Environmental Services Supervisor with environmental maintenance by reporting repair and cleaning needs outside of their capabilities. Performs unit environmental maintenance to ensure a clean environment by placing used and unused linen in soiled holding area.
• Document daily isolation discharge cleaning, monthly cubicle curtains and scheduled terminal cleans.
• estocks rooms after patient discharge and resets room for next patient.
• Ensures cleaning and removal of all equipment from rooms when patient is discharged. Reports any complaints to Environmental Services Supervisor.
• Collects trash, segregates trash by placing into categories: Recyclable, hazardous, Sharps and General waste
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED.
