Job Description

Shirley Parsons is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist for their Wytheville, VA facility. This role involves ensuring environmental compliance, implementing sustainability initiatives, and coordinating environmental permits and audits. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in environmental management within manufacturing and a relevant degree. Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously are essential. This is a full-time, on-site position.
A leading manufacturing company is looking for an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join their EHS team in Wytheville, VA. This is a single-site role, where you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and excellence at the manufacturing facility as well as rolling out corporate Sustainability initiatives. This represents a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader, where you will be given every platform to succeed in the role.

The Role:
• Organize, implement, and audit all environmental programs and strategy at the plant, ensuring compliance to all regulatory standards
• Prepare and coordinate all environmental permits, reports and related requirements for facility – Air, Waste, Water etc.
• Complete environmental site inspections and audits providing recommendations and ensuring follow-up on corrective actions.
• Keep informed of existing and upcoming environmental regulations that may affect operational facilities
• Act as the point of contact and subject matter expert for both regulatory agencies and operational teams

The Candidate:
• 2-5 years of environmental management experience working in a manufacturing environment
• B.S. in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
• Self-starter who is able to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills and able to interface with employees at all levels of the organization
