Job Description

Job Title: Environment and Sustainability Grad/Advisor

Reporting to: Environmental and Sustainability Manager

Business Unit: Transmission North

Responsibilities & Duties
• Assist in the development and implementation of Omexom’s Sustainability Strategy and associated guidance.
• Assist in the delivery of internal Environmental & Sustainability training
• Assist in the management and update of the Environmental Management System.
• Assist in the implementation of internal sustainability data recording.
• Assist in the collation of environmental and sustainability data for clients and other stakeholders.
• Review sustainability related data, metrics, and reports to identify issues and potential opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in the delivery of social initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, community engagement, employee well-being, human rights.

Person Specification

· Educated to degree level in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability or equivalent.

· Master’s Degree (optional but beneficial)in fields like Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, or Sustainable Construction.

Qualifications and experience

· Knowledge (and experience of) environmental legislation, environmental best practice, sustainability practices

· Membership of an Environmental Body i.e. IEMA, CIEEM

· Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

· Internships / Placements in sustainability, environmental management, or construction.

· Project work related to carbon reduction, waste management, or energy efficiency for example.

· Knowledge of Environmental Legislation (e.g., UK Net Zero targets, PAS 2080, ISO 14001).

· Experience with Sustainability Reporting (e.g., ESG reporting, lifecycle assessments).

· 0-3 years experience in a related field.

Competencies

Skills, knowledge, and abilities:

· Data analysis (e.g carbon, life cycle assessments)

· Environmental compliance knowledge (waste, emissions, biodiversity policies)

· Sustainable construction techniques (e.g., circular economy principles, eco-friendly materials)

· Communication & stakeholder engagement (liaising with site teams, regulators, and clients)

Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality
