Job Description
Sanford Health seeks Environmental Supervisors for its Fargo, ND location. The role involves leading staff to maintain cleanliness and service quality, overseeing project coordination, staff training, and compliance with safety standards. Supervisors work evening shifts, Monday through Friday, plus alternate weekends. Responsibilities include quality assurance inspections, supply control, and staff management. This is not a remote position as it requires on-site supervision at the medical center.

No Department Details This position is covering Sanford Medical Center Fargo. Hours are Monday through Friday and every other weekend 5:00pm-1:30am in an evening Supervisor role. Resume must be submitted. Summary Supervisor, Environmental Services helps provide direct leadership and guidance to staff to ensure that high level of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained. Job Description Maintain a high level of cleanliness in assigned areas. May work closely with other departments to coordinate projects, room moves, room turn overs, etc. Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties. Depending upon location, may assist with coverage in areas of housekeeping and laundry during staffing shortages. Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper frequencies are maintained. Ensure that staff receive proper orientation, initial training and ongoing education. Ensure that proper supply control guidelines are followed and staff is trained in the use of all chemicals. Use a proactive approach to identifying and correcting facility quality assurance concerns. Provide and monitor individual guidance and motivation to associates to enable each one to perform to fullest potential. Ensure high quality percentage of clean is maintained in areas of assignment. Perform Quality Assurance Inspections as assigned. Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance. Ensure that all equipment is clean and professional in appearance at all times. Prepare associate disciplinary and variance reports and conduct follow-up investigation as needed, reporting findings to appropriate leader. Participate in department safety and maintain a safe work environment at all times. Report all unsafe equipment and acts. Assure that the integrity of security at the facility is maintained at all times. Ensure office, storage and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all times. Assist with The Joint Commission (TJC) compliance. May have access to areas where medications are stored in order to perform their specific job related functions. Participate in staff selection process. Interview candidates as needed. Schedule days off, holidays and vacations, ensuring that facility's needs are met in accordance with budgeted hours and the department position control. Review duty lists with regular and relief associates periodically, provide assistance to ensure duty lists are revised and current at all times, help to maintain records and make sure log books are current and maintain all necessary documentation. Monitor service binders in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action to resolve concerns/comments. Depending upon location and availability of programs, may have access to use of internal applications as well as will have access to pagers and other technology that they will be responsible to use appropriately when needed. Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action including timely follow-up. Depending upon location, may provide backup assistance for approving timecards, assisting with evaluations, getting schedules out, delivering and ordering of supplies. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ability to use computer and prefer supervisory experience. Attend all monthly departmental meetings or review meeting minutes.
