Trellis Group is hiring an Environmental Strategy Director to lead sustainability initiatives. The role requires a strong background in climate science and leadership skills. Responsibilities include developing climate action strategies, conducting risk assessments, and creating carbon sequestration initiatives. A Ph.D. or Master's in a related field is required, along with experience in climate risk models. The position may be based in the U.S. or Spain, with frequent travel.
Role Overview
Iberostar is seeking an experienced Environmental Strategy Director to lead our sustainability efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in climate change and environmental science, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Job Description
The Climate Action Director will work closely with the Sustainability Office, Nature and Nature-Based Solutions team, Science team, and managers to develop and implement climate action strategies. Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and guiding research projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
• Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to evaluate potential climate-related threats.
• Creating carbon sequestration initiatives to achieve Iberostar's Carbon Neutrality goal by 2030.
• Staying up-to-date on trends and technologies for value chain decarbonization.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A Ph.D. or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
• Experience with climate risk models, vulnerability analysis, and project budgeting.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific information into clear language.

Working ConditionsThis role may be based in the United States or Spain, with frequent travel required.
