Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Specialist II in Johnston, IA. JOB SUMMARY: The Environmental Specialist II is responsible for participating in a wide range of projects, which may include proposal writing and administration, report writing, various business development initiatives, and grant writing and administration. The Environmental Specialist II may also be responsible for assisting with a variety of fieldwork related to environmental due diligence, industrial hygiene, and hazardous materials.

• Proposal research, coordination, writing, and formatting.
• Conducting industrial hygiene assessments for chemical and noise exposures
• Site visits include field sampling, data collection, field equipment operation, and other field activities associated with environmental projects
• Works independently on projects ranging from small to medium and assists senior staff on larger projects
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
• Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright's and Eocene Environmental Group's culture of safety and employee ownership
• Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or similar field. In the absence of a degree, equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
• 2-5 years' experience in the environmental field
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (if not held, must be able and willing to obtain)
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and time management skills
• Be organized and detail oriented
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Experience with building systems and mapping software
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds, on occasion
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions in outdoor and indoor environments
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have a clean driving record for at least five years prior to the start of work. Offers of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check and drug and alcohol testing.
