Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position (K0232036). This role involves technical report review and field work. Some travel within the State of Kansas is required.

Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct complex field and office investigations and determinations related to source testing and compliance with state and federal air quality control regulations and statutes.
• Perform on‑site source testing observations to ensure testing/RATA protocols are followed, sampling procedures are met, and EPA reference test methods are followed under the applicable regulations.
• Participate in pre‑testing meetings to review test protocols and site‑specific issues.
• Review higher‑complexity testing/RATA results for accuracy of scientific calculations and determine compliance.
• Oversee environmental monitoring and data coordination tasks (WRAPS monitoring projects, quality assurance, data management).
Qualifications
• Education: High School or GED. Minimum of four years of environmental science with emphasis in biology, chemistry, geology or related natural science.
• Licensing & Certification: Valid driver's license.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Four years’ experience in environmental science biology, chemistry, geology.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
• Proofreading, editing, attention to detail.
• Experience with industrial pollution control equipment or systems.
• Experience interpreting environmental laws and regulations.
• Experience preparing environmental or technical reports.
• Experience performing environmental inspections or investigations.
• Experience performing environmental audits or surveys.
• Experience with industrial facilities.
