Veolia is hiring an Environmental Specialist in Henderson, NV, to support hazardous waste management and compliance with environmental regulations. The role involves on-site representation for waste services, client coordination, and transportation of hazardous materials. Candidates should have experience in the hazardous waste industry, a valid driver's license, and HAZWOPER certification. Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation and Disposal Specialist to provide specialized services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have prior work experience in the hazardous waste industry, a strong understanding of environmental regulations, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Support customer activities as Veolia's on-site representative for waste characterization, hazardous waste collection and disposal, chemical safety, waste minimization, and hazardous materials shipping, storage, and handling.
• Transport hazardous and non-hazardous wastes following acquisition of Commercial Driver's License and industry-specific training on local routes in a Class B vehicle.
• Coordinate customer deliverables with Veolia support staff off-site including customer service team, technical services, transportation group, sales, accounting, and other field crew members.
• Maintain a positive relationship with clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing or potential problems.
• Comply with and enforce all environmental, health, and safety procedures in accordance with Veolia policies.
Requirements
• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related science discipline preferred but not required.
• Prior work experience in the hazardous waste or related industry is highly desirable.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification, Valid Driver's License, and ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.
