Job Description

IPE Global Limited is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Kozhikode, Kerala. The role involves preparing Environmental Framework Documents, supporting urban local bodies with environmental assessments, ensuring compliance with Environmental Safeguard Policies, and assisting the Team Leader. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Civil/Environmental Engineering and a Master's in a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in urban infrastructure projects and familiarity with World Bank project safeguards.
Job Description:
• Support in preparation of DPRs and SWM Plans. Lead preparation of ES Framework Instruments (ESMPF, RPF/Livelihood Restoration Framework). Support the ULBs in the preparation of the Environmental assessment report of the SWM plan that will be prepared as part of the sub-activity.
• Prepare Framework Documents: ESMPF
• Prepare Sub-Project Level Documents: Initial Environmental Examination (IEEs)/Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs); ESMPs.
• Ensure all ESMP measures are included in the tender documents and respective works contracts.
• Ensure compliance with all Environmental Safeguard Policies by the Contractor during Implementation.
• Assist in any other task assigned by the Team Leader

Educational and Experience Details:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering with master’s in environmental or Urban Planning, Policy, Management, Infrastructure Development or Environmental Engineering required with about 5 years work experience in urban infrastructure projects
• Should have substantial experience as an environmental expert in at least 2 solid waste management projects
• Must have worked at least in one World Bank or donor financed project and is familiar with the environmental safeguards requirements of projects financed by the World Bank or by another international finance institution.
