Environmental Site Surveillance Tech (Cal/OSHA CSST)

Ellis Environmental Management, Inc. seeks a certified Cal/OSHA Site Surveillance Technician for asbestos-related services in Southern California. Responsibilities include monitoring abatement projects and conducting surveys. Applicants must reside in Southern California and possess relevant certifications. The position starts part-time and can progress to full-time, requiring physical capability for fieldwork. Competitive pay ($30-$34/hour) and benefits are offered. Weekend and night work may be necessary.
Seeking currently certified California OSHA Site Surveillance Technician for asbestos-related sampling and monitoring services throughout Southern California. Applicants who are not currently a CSST, but have completed their AHERA Supervisor and Building Inspector courses MAY be considered for part-time positions at reduced compensation rates.


Ellis Environmental, Southern California's leader in commercial asbestos and lead-related testing and management services, is looking for a highly motivated CSST - (Cal/OSHA Certified Site Surveillance Technician) to join our expanding team!


Applicants should possess CSST certification from DOSH (Division of Occupational Safety and Health), great communication skills, strong verbal and written skills, legible handwriting (for field reports), strong analytical skills, along with a reliable vehicle and a current, clean CA driver’s license. Job will be part-time to start, progressing to full time. Applicant must CURRENTLY BE RESIDING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.


Job duties include asbestos/lead surveys and clearances, monitoring abatement projects, indoor air quality and mold/moisture assessments, Phase I site surveys, and health and safety audits occurring throughout the LA basin (Burbank, Glendale, Hollywood, Torrance, Long Beach, etc.). Some weekend and night work is required.


The right candidate must be physically capable of carrying out field sampling activities, which can include crawlspace inspections, roof sampling, and involve carrying moderately heavy equipment (pumps, ladders, tools etc. up to 40 lbs).
