Job Description

Common Spirit is seeking a Nurse Manager for ER Stroke and Trauma programs at St. Alexius Health Dickinson, ND. The role involves overseeing the ER department, driving patient satisfaction, and acting as a liaison between staff and leadership. Responsibilities include staff development, performance management, and ensuring adequate staffing. A BSN and RN license are required. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible new hires.
About the position

As our Nurse Manager in ER Stroke and Trauma programs at St. Alexius Health Dickinson, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, you'll oversee the ER department of frontline nurses and act as the conduit between these caregivers and leadership teams. You will communicate the organization's goals to the nursing staff as we constantly seek to improve patient experiences, reach out to our community, and deliver quality care. At the same time, you will advocate for your team by bringing any issues, requests, or new ideas from them to leadership. CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson part of CommonSpirit Heath a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care assisted and residential living communities community health services organizations home health agencies and numerous outpatient facilities. We are offering a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the Emergency Department, including ER, Trauma program, Stroke program, and managing the APP schedule in the ER.

• Drive patient satisfaction, quality, and safety metrics through leadership, incident review, policies and procedures, training, and performance improvement programs.

• Serve as a liaison between management and staff, communicating company direction and vision with employees and sharing employee feedback with senior leadership.
,
• Drive employee performance through staff development, accountability, conflict resolution, mentoring, communication, performance management, and team-building.
,
• Develop and maintain tools and resources to support employee competency within the department, including orientation, competency checklists, job aides, and communication tools.
,
• Identify issues, conduct root cause analyses, implement solutions, and strive for continuous improvement in the department.
,
• Envision, recommend, evaluate, and deploy new programs, services, certifications, or awards that advance the department or organization.
,
• Ensure adequate staffing by overseeing recruitment, selection, and scheduling; establishing staffing guidelines; and providing direct patient care when required.
,
• Model the organization's mission, vision, and core values in daily work and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
,
• Represent the department in interdisciplinary meetings.

Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required.
,
• RN license, North Dakota (compact license or license issued by the ND Board of Nursing).
,
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card (BLS) (30 days of hire).

• ACLS (6 months of hire)
,
• TNCC (1 year of hire)
,
• PALS (1 year of hire)
,
• Proficient with computers and applications used in the healthcare setting, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
