Intermountain Health seeks an Environmental Services Manager in Helena, MT, to lead and coordinate the Environmental Services and Linen Services departments. Responsibilities include budget management, staff development, compliance with safety initiatives, and ensuring cleanliness standards. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with experience in healthcare environmental services. This position is not remote and involves on-site management.
Job Description:

Provides leadership, planning and day-to-day coordination for Environmental Services department and Linen Services. Maintains the standards of cleanliness and appearance as established by the facility and regulatory standards for community hospitals below 450,000 cleanable square feet.Essential Functions

Develops, implements and manages annual capital/operating and personnel (FTE) budget for Environmental Services. Uses resources effectively and manages expenses to meet financial goalsResponsible for hiring, orienting, staff development, education, and performance management. Builds a cohesive team and promotes employee engagement.Responsible for Environmental Services performance and compliance with patient safety initiatives, federal, state and other regulatory bodies such as Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and other EVS specific accrediting and certifying bodies.Ensures department follows EVS system standard processes, guidelines, and suppliesManages and mentors EVS supervisors and provides professional development opportunitiesManages operating expenses for Environmental Services and Linen. Uses resources effectively and manages expenses to meet financial goalsEffectively uses professional and organizational best practices to ensure delivery of quality servicesPerforms cleaning duties as needed based on staffing, patient loads, and time constraintsMay include responsibility for linen servicesSkills

Demonstrated leadership experienceDemonstrated experience in collaborative workProven ability to lead an engaged team and foster professional developmentDemonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with employees at all levels in the organization, and communicate effectively in meetings and group settingsExperience in managing departmental budgets (preferred)Experience in Housekeeping or related field (preferred)Demonstrated experience in healthcare Environmental Services (preferred)Physical Requirements

Ongoing need to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needsFrequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accuratelyManual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
