Overview
As an Environmental Senior Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Greenville, SC office, you'll manage project teams delivering a variety of environmental services, including environmental assessments, subsurface investigations, soil and water remediation, and environmental permitting and compliance. You'll provide senior direction across projects for real estate, manufacturing, public sector, and waste management clients, performing quality assurance reviews and ensuring technical excellence. You'll oversee proposals, project budgets, technical staff, subcontractors, and project financials, while driving business development and maintaining direct interaction with clients, contractors, laboratories, and local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities
Manage environmental projects from initiation through completion, including oversight of scope, schedule, and budget.
Provide senior-level technical direction and quality assurance for environmental assessments, remediation, and permitting projects.
Develop proposals, project budgets, and manage financial performance for assigned projects.
Coordinate and communicate with clients, contractors, laboratories, and regulatory agencies at all levels.
Mentor and supervise technical staff, supporting professional development and performance reviews.
Oversee subcontractor work and ensure compliance with CEC safety and quality standards.
Drive business development efforts and contribute to strategic growth initiatives within the Environmental Practice.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, including at least 10 years in project management
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or a related field
Professional license; P.E. or P.G. licensure preferred
In-depth knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, including RCRA, Act 2, CERCLA, and the Clean Water Act
Experience conducting environmental site assessments and remediation, interpreting data, communicating findings to clients, and providing recommendations aligned with project objectives
Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, budgeting, performing cost control, and meeting deadlines
Experience supervising technical staff and providing mentorship
Experience developing proposals, including scope of services, budgets, and schedules, and managing projects safely and efficiently
Participation in client‑focused or professional development organizations
Established client relationships and professional network in Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Mining, Power, Public Sector, Waste Management, or Manufacturing markets
Proven experience in business development and client management
Preferred Capabilities
Experience with groundwater modeling
Advanced experience leading large or complex environmental remediation projects
Demonstrated leadership in expanding service offerings and driving strategic growth initiatives
