WKC Group is seeking an Environmental Scientist/EIA/Ecologist in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role involves assisting with field surveys, ecological impact assessments, and report writing. Candidates should have strong field ecology skills and basic statistical knowledge. Responsibilities include data analysis, habitat surveys, and maintaining survey equipment. The position is full-time and offers a salary range of AED 120K–AED 200K per year.
Position: Environmental Scientist / EIA / Ecologist
WKC are looking for an Environmental Scientist / EIA / Ecologist with experience of assisting with field surveys and with strong technical written skills as well as basic understanding of statistics. Strong field ecology survey skills in marine and/or terrestrial ecosystems are highly desirable. Furthermore, experience in undertaking ecological impact assessments is preferable but not mandatory.
The job will initially involve assisting with desk studies on terrestrial and/or marine ecology and field surveys. As skills are developed, an opportunity to take on more responsibilities such as assisting with ecological impact assessment study and providing mitigation for protected flora and fauna for a variety of proposed development projects in the GCC (or in the Philippines). In addition, the job will initially involve undertaking basic report writing duties and assisting in general office tasks including maintenance and monitoring survey equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
• Integrate with WKC’s ecology team conducting field surveys.
• Data and sample analysis, and species distribution pattern.
• Assisting with habitat surveys with the ability to identify different habitat types and associated flora and fauna in the field.
• Undertaking basic report writing duties and assist in maintaining and monitoring ecological survey equipment.
• Develop a good understanding of wildlife legislation and policy in the Arabian Peninsula, and then able to communicate this clearly to colleagues, clients, and contractors.
• Keep accurate field notes as well as handling, recording, and storing data effectively.
This role will be primarily based in our office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
