Job Description

Braun Intertec is seeking an Environmental Scientist Summer Intern in Austin, TX. The role involves field and office tasks, including research, data compilation, and site activities like sample collection. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related fields, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. The internship offers a salary range of $36,000 - $54,000 and includes benefits such as health insurance and paid time off.
Engage in environmental projects with field and office tasks, including research and data compilation.

Your Role:

Key responsibilities include:
• Interacting with field and office technicians, engineers, and scientists
• Conducting office-based research, data compilation, writing, and various field activities such as site reconnaissance, sample collection for air, soil, and water, and construction oversight
• Collaborating with other key consultants on environmental projects
• Assisting with other department needs, potentially including construction materials testing

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:
• Significant progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or Engineering
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
• Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• A valid driver's license and clean driving record
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred, but may be provided as necessary for regulatory compliance
• Skills in developing and maintaining relationships with cross-functional teams
• Good business acumen
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Strong communication skills
• High organization skills
• Ability to work independently

Compensation & Benefits:

The compensation range for this role is $36,000.00 - $54,000.00. Benefits typically include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Training & Development:

Opportunities for professional development and OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training may be provided as necessary.
