This Environmental Scientist / Project Manager needs a minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental consulting with an emphasis on environmental due diligence. This career opportunity entails the following:


Environmental Investigations and Environmental Due Diligence




Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) in accordance with ASTM standards


Conduct / manage limited Phase II ESAs according to ASTM standards

Perform project specific field work including: scheduling, coordinating subcontractors, collecting soil, groundwater, surface water and vapor samples for environmental investigations via hydraulic push soil borings, hollow stem auger borings and hand auger borings. Data entry of collected field information into tables, maps and reports for site characterization


Prepare soil and water samples for laboratory analysis of requested parameters


Evaluate, analyze and interpret technical data relative to project-specific goals, create and interpret accurate data display graphs and figures, and identify data gaps and data needs


Write reports and letters, develop plans, and implement steps to move projects forward in the most cost-effective manner


Work effectively with staff to ensure that all resources are in place for proper fieldwork execution


Complete field projects and oversee subcontractors for various activities related to hydrogeological investigations


Communicate with third party and regulatory agents regarding schedules and compliance issues


Utilize databases to query site information and data, as well as, to create historical tables and sampling reports




Environmental Reporting – Support our EHS Team in the following areas:




Environmental Audits


Air Permit Compliance


Hazardous Waste Compliance


Storm Water Compliance


Wastewater Discharge Compliance


Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC)


EPCRA Compliance (Tier II, Form R, etc.)




Emergency Spill Response




Work as part of the REI emergency spill response team. Respond to spills and conduct remediation follow up and reporting



Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:


Soil Science, Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Engineering Degree that will meet the requirements of an Environmental Scientist as defined in Wisconsin Administrative Code (WAC) Chapter NR712


Completed ASTM Environmental Site Assessments course


40-hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker (Hazwoper) Certified


Minimum five years’ environmental consulting experience


Ability to effectively communicate with peers, clients and regulators


Effective written communication and computer skills


Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and aptitude to learn and excel in their career
