Join Our Team as an Environmental Scientist - Compliance Specialist!

Are you looking to advance your career in environmental science? Do you take pride in delivering high-quality work? Our dynamic Compliance and Permitting team is seeking a dedicated entry-level scientist or engineer who is eager to contribute to client success. You will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced professionals in the field.

What You'll Do:
• Assist in environmental studies, permitting, and compliance evaluations.
• Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
• Perform regulatory research.
• Write technical documents related to permitting and project delivery.
• Collect field data and document field activities.
• Communicate environmental requirements to project teams and clients.
• Conduct site investigations and inspections to assess soil and groundwater conditions.
• Prepare reports and memoranda related to compliance and permitting.
• Collaborate with team members in both office and remote settings.
• Travel as needed to support national and regional client projects.
• Act as a liaison with clients on behalf of Brown and Caldwell.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Material Science) or Science (Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry).
• 0-5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general computer skills.
• Preferred experience in permitting and compliance with knowledge of environmental regulations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• A self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
• Willingness to travel 50% to 75% of the time.
• 40-hour HazWOPER certification is a plus.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and wear required safety equipment.
• Endurance to stand for extended periods and to respond quickly to potential hazards.

Compensation and Benefits:

The anticipated starting salary for this position is between $58,000 and $79,000, based on skills and experience.
