Local candidates are preferred as this position is not remote.
Job Description One Tech Engineering is searching for an Environmental Scientist Assistant for a position located in Akron, Ohio. The Environmental Scientist Assistant will identify and prepare environmental and non-environmental permits through municipalities, townships, counties, and state departments of transportation. The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program. Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.

Environmental Scientist Assistant Responsibilities: Interpret engineering drawings to identify and develop permits. Environmental analysis and evaluations. Support project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists, vegetation management team, Right-of-Way managers and real estate coordinators as required.

Track the status of permit applications and escalate any delays or issues that may impact project timelines. Support Client needs as directed. Efficient at working independently as well as in a team environment.

Adhering to all safety requirements. Requirements of the Environmental Scientist Assistant: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program. Working knowledge of general permitting requirements and laws.

Proficient in working with Google Earth, PDF viewer/editing programs, spreadsheets and other task tracking software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail.

Good verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license required.
