This opportunity offers hands-on experience in environmental oversight and field work for a large, multi-year redevelopment project. The role involves supporting Licensed Site Professionals (LSPs) with site inspections, data collection, GIS work, and technical reporting, while also providing mentorship opportunities and room for professional growth. Ideal for early-career environmental professionals, the position combines field and office work in a collaborative team setting with continued learning through training and conferences.
Responsibilities:
• Provide oversight for environmental projects and site inspections for a large multi-year redevelopment project.
• Undertake and lead assignments involving research, data collection, field studies, estimating, GIS, calculations, and project file management that support LSPs on MCP projects.
• Document hypotheses, approach, and reasoning clearly for review and use by others.
• Record research, data reduction, drilling oversight, media sampling & analysis into technical reports.
• Apply technical principles to project work following client procedures & standards.
• Perform self QA/QC and make corrections prior to internal peer reviews.
• Work with senior staff and mentors on assignments of varying scope and complexity.
• Attend team meetings and one-on-ones to maintain communication.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; may supervise their work.
• Participate in conferences and seminars for ongoing education and training.Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in environmental assessment and response actions.
• Ability to collect field data and measurements, including roadway, sidewalk, and utility asset inspections.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Capability to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Willingness to perform field work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
