Job Description

Leidos is seeking an Environmental Scientist for their Mankato, MN office, focusing on the FUSRAP project. Responsibilities include field and office support, environmental data analysis, sample collection, and client data requests. Candidates should have a B.S. in environmental science and four years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential. The position requires up to 25% travel for project support.
Leidos has an opening for a Environmental Scientist in our Earth City, Missouri office.The Environmental Scientist will work under the supervision of Senior Staff providing office and field support primarily for the FUSRAP project and up to 25% travel to support other similar projects. Primary duties may include assisting the Verification/Characterization Task Manager with the implementation of the characterization and verification programs and support of the environmental monitoring program. Provide support for client requests for data and related information.

Other duties include collection of soil, water and air samples in outdoor condition. Perform scientific analyses of environmental data resulting from field operations, including development of maps, figures, tables, and written materials describing investigation data and results of data analyses, conduct statistical analyses of environmental and radiological data, manipulate and maintain environmental databases and datasets, manage the site property inspection program. Support the preparation of technical work plans and reports.

What Sets You Apart:

B.S. in environmental science (or related scientific degree and/or experience)

Minimum of four years' experience conducting sampling and scientific investigations in the field.

Good communication skills.

Attention to detail and ability to conduct work in accordance with written plans and procedures.

You Might Also Have:

Experience with RESRAD software

Experience with MARSSIM

Proficiency in field documentation, technical report writing, and analysis skills.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain custom MS Access and MS Excel applications.

Experience sampling and handling Radioactive Materials.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
