Garver is hiring an Environmental Scientist with 1-3 years of experience for their North Little Rock, AR office. The role involves conducting fieldwork, preparing environmental permits, and writing technical reports. Garver is seeking an Environmental Scientist with 1-3 years of experience to provide assistance with environmental permitting and the preparation of planning and environmental studies for various infrastructure projects across multiple business lines in our established Rogers or North Little Rock, AR offices.

The Environmental Scientist will:
• Conduct fieldwork primarily consisting of wetland delineations and habitat assessments, as well as site visits necessary for preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans.
• Prepare regulatory permits and approvals in compliance with environmental laws, particularly for Section 404 permitting and NPDES permitting.
• Prepare technical reports and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents.

Garver’s Planning and Environmental Team is a growing, collaborative group offering our regional clients full-service planning and environmental capabilities. This position will have the opportunity to make a daily impact on Garver’s projects by being involved in a variety of project types with diverse clients, working collaboratively with internal project teams, and expanding our services through high-quality work.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the environmental sciences or planning.
• Proficiency in technical writing and use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Availability for occasional overnight travel (generally less than one week).
• Excellent communication skills and able to work on a collaborative team, both internally and externally.

Preferred Skills:
• Proficiency with Arc Pro and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis and mapping.
• Established knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations and guidelines, particularly with regard to Waters of the U.S. and Section 404 permitting.
• Experience in preparing NEPA documents, particularly with regards to transportation projects.
• Working knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, InRoads, and/or other engineering and design software.
