Job Summary:

This is a professional services position responsible for scientific work in protecting the environment. The role involves program management, performing complex technical evaluations, and supervising subordinates engaged in monitoring, evaluating, and investigating environmental issues.

Main Responsibilities:
• Serving as a point person for receiving complaints and other allegations of unlawful conduct
• Coordinating complaint responses, developing Standard Operating Procedures, overseeing sampling procedures, and reviewing case files
• Making initial determinations relative to whether violations of Maine pesticide laws have occurred, and if so, working with the Office of the Attorney General to determine the appropriate enforcement response

Requirements:
• An eight (8) year combination of education and/or experience in environmental science or related area
• At least two (2) years of supervisory or program management/administration experience
