Job Description
Living Lakes Canada is seeking an Environmental Science Manager in Nelson, BC, requiring a Bachelor's degree and experience in ecology and water resource management. Responsibilities include managing contracts, staff recruitment, research, budgeting, and community program development. Tasks: Manage contracts. Recruit and hire staff. Prepare research papers, educational texts or articles. Prepare funding and grant applications and proposals. Prepare budgets and monitor revenues and expenses. Maintain inventory of equipment. Conduct research. Assist in analysis of data and preparation of reports. Assist in budget preparation. Operate database management systems to analyze data. Participate in fundraising activities. Co-ordinate workshops. Direct committees and working groups working on projects and programs. Conduct technical analyses of survey and field data for development of topographic, soil, hydrological or other information and prepare reports. Administer first aid in emergency situations. Monitor budgets allocated to environmental programs. Engage in community program development. Develop programs related to scientific fields. Administer programs related to scientific fields. Resource usage and environmental studies: Environmental assessment and monitoring. Computer and technology knowledge: Google Drive. Area of work experience: Ecology. Planning specialization: Water resource management. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Water management. Environment. Program evaluation and review. Scientific specialization: Natural and applied sciences. Climate change. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check.
