Job Description

NatureBridge is seeking full-time Environmental Science Educators for its campuses in national parks, including Yosemite and Olympic. Overview


NatureBridge has campuses in four national park locations: Yosemite, Golden Gate, Olympic, and Prince William Forest. All programming is guided by NatureBridge’s Theory of Change. NatureBridge provides best-in-class environmental science education experiences for more than 30,000 students and their teachers every year in national parks.

Tasks and Functions



Use a student-centered approach to lead participants through multi-day, hands-on, experiential and investigative learning in outdoor settings.
Cultivate an inclusive learning environment by delivering culturally relevant content.
Create and lead differentiated programming, including two to three evening programs a week.
Manage students’ physical safety in outdoor settings.
Work to support an inclusive workplace community.
Participate in continuous professional development.
Keep records and assessments of student experiences.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Educator Schedule


Schedule varies week-to-week: programs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, evening programs 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. two to three times a week.


Compensation



$15.75/hour
Medical, dental and vision insurance

On-site housing may be provided

Eligibility Requirements and Qualifications



At least one year of relevant formal or informal teaching experience
Social and emotional skills to build rapport
Commitment to equity and inclusion
Wilderness First Responder/Aid certification or willingness to attain
Ability to perform physically challenging work outdoors

Working Conditions & Physical Demands


Exposed to weather conditions, moderate noise, evening and occasional weekend work. Physical demands include walking up to seven miles on uneven terrain, lifting up to 25 pounds.


Campus Details



Yosemite: Yosemite Valley and National Environmental Science Center, CA. Grades 4-12.
Golden Gate: Marin Headlands, CA. K-12, mostly 4-6.
Olympic: Lake Crescent, WA. Grades 1-12.
Prince William Forest: VA. Grades 5-8.
