Environmental Science

PINNACLE TECHNOLOGY is seeking an Environmental Technician in Johnston, IA, for a 12+ month contract at $25/hr. The role involves supporting the EHS&S team with permits, inspections, and hazardous waste management. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in Environmental Science, along with some hazardous waste handling experience. The position requires physical activity and is in-person, with a Monday to Friday morning shift.

Optional Bonus Skills:
• 1+ years of hazardous waste handling experience is a plus;
• 1+ years of chemical or laboratory experience is a plus;

Duties:
• Support EHS&S team with permits, inspections, documentation, and calibration or certification of equipment using established processes/procedures.
• Assist in characterization, collection, transport, and creating profiles of regulated and non-regulated hazardous waste.
• Assist with the final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies;
• Ensures drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance our company's policies and procedure.

Must be able to:
• Perform basic computer skills such as data entry
• Be on your feet walking for most of the day
• Perform routine lifts of 20-30 lbs. with occasional lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Push/pull carts with materials
• Be comfortable working with chemicals and within a laboratory environment

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
