Job Overview:

Pharmaron's Coventry site is seeking an experienced Environmental Safety Engineer to lead regulatory compliance across air emissions, hazardous waste (RCRA), wastewater, and environmental reporting. This 63,000 ft GMP API manufacturing facility supports clinical and commercial production, with diverse operations including kilo labs, hydrogenation, and HPLC purification. The role supports new product introductions, capital projects, and lab operations, ensuring site-wide EHS compliance.

Responsibilities:
• Guide teams through environmental compliance during new product introductions, including emissions assessments, hazardous waste identification, and wastewater evaluations
• Ensure adherence to air pollution control permits, LDAR programs, and emissions tracking (using Emission Master)
• Manage hazardous waste operations per RCRA, including accumulation, inspection, and off-site disposal
• Ensure compliance with Clean Water Act requirements, including sampling and reporting to local authorities
• Develop, implement, and train personnel on required regulatory plans (e.g., Stormwater, SPCC, LDAR, RCRA Subpart BB/CC)
• Complete and submit required environmental reports including SARA 312/313, RCRA Biennial, EPA CAERS, and Rhode Island Air Inventory
• Support occupational safety programs including safe work permits, industrial hygiene, audits, and incident investigations

What We're Looking For:
• BS in environmental, safety, health, or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in Environmental, Safety and Health; Preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
• Working knowledge of confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, lab safety, respiratory protection, OSHA record keeping and reporting and emergency response.
• Experience in the management of environmental programs including RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Remediation and regulatory reporting.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage projects effectively
• Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
• Knowledge of Rhode Island Environmental Regulatory Programs is a plus.
• Knowledge of the use of EHS Management Systems software is a plus
• Proficiency in the use of Emission Master software is a plus
