Description
The Environmental Restoration Ecologist / Scientist will be instrumental in enhancing our environmental consulting practice. You will join a thriving team in Northern California, specializing in planning, design, mitigation, and restoration for projects that span communities, infrastructure systems, open spaces, and wildlands. Our Environmental Hydrology and Design practice focuses on habitat restoration and multi-benefit flood management, integrating ecological function with engineering design for impactful solutions. Collaboration and creativity are at the core of our team culture, composed of engineers, geomorphologists, landscape architects, biologists, and restoration ecologists.

Skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or a related ecological field
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in restoration ecology
• Expertise in California’s native habitats, especially wetlands and riparian habitats
• Proficient in environmental science and permitting principles
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective team collaboration and project management abilities
Responsibilities
• Utilize judgment and critical thinking in restoration design projects and biological studies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop habitat restoration designs
• Author environmental documents like biological assessments and restoration plans
• Conduct and possibly lead biological field studies including flora and fauna surveys
• Oversee project tasks, including schedules, budgets, and logistics as a Deputy or Project Manager
Qualifications
• Technical expertise in restoration ecology
• Proven experience in producing habitat restoration design documents
• Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation
• Experience managing multiple responsibilities and meeting project deadlines
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related ecological field
• Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory
