Suncor is seeking a mid-to-senior Environmental & Regulatory Advisor based in Port Moody, BC, to support their Operations and Logistics team focusing on fuel terminals in Western Canada. The role requires a degree in Environmental Science or related field and relevant experience in environmental regulations, compliance, and audits. Responsibilities include providing E&R support, advising on regulatory requirements, and overseeing environmental compliance activities. Regular travel to operating sites is required.

We are hiring a mid-to-senior Environmental & Regulatory Advisor to support the Operations and Logistics team with a focus on our fuel terminals in Western Canada, based out of Port Moody, BC. If you have experience providing environment and regulatory services in oil and gas or a related field, we want to hear from you!

Minimum Requirements:
• Post secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Management or Engineering (or related field of study)
• Several years of directly related experience
• Advanced to expert level skill and knowledge in environmental aspects, impacts, regulatory requirements and effective controls (especially as pertaining to soil, water and air)
• Experience in communicating and interacting with regulators on environmental requirements and issues
• Experience in conducting field and process assurance (audits & assessments)
• Experience working with or in the petrochemical, chemical or similar industry

Key Accountabilities:
• Primary Environment and Regulatory (E&R) support for the Operations and Logistics team with a focus on Western Canada Fuel Terminals
• Provides E&R advice and expertise with minimal direction or oversight
• Works with terminal business leaders to design and improve management processes, E&R programs, procedures and practices
• Supports and advises on environmental regulatory requirements including periodic reporting to regulators
• Supports implementation and sustainment of management system processes to manage environmental aspects and regulatory requirements
• Maintains oversight on environmental compliance activities and tasks at operating locations
• Lead or support environmental incident investigations and corrective actions, when appropriate
• Provide regular stewardship and analysis of environmental performance
• Work in partnership with Health & Safety and Emergency Management teams as required

Location and other Key Details:
• You will work out of our Port Moody, BC facility
• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
• This role will require significant and regular travel to operating sites in western Canada
• Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
