Job Description

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist in Greensboro, NC. The role involves planning and implementing environmental compliance guidance under NEPA and the Toxic Substances Control Act, and advising leadership on compliance issues. Applicants should have specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 level in the federal service. The position is open to various eligibility statuses.
This position is located at Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes.

As a/an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will:

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
• Planning, implementing, or authoring environmental compliance guidance and regulations for projects under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 (83 Stat. 852) [42 U.S.C. 4321];
• Planning, implementing, or authoring environmental compliance guidance and regulations for projects under the Toxic Substances Control Act;
• Advising senior leadership on environmental protection and compliance issues.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
