Environmental Protection Officer

G2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Officer for a 6-month contract in South East England. The role involves identifying, investigating, and monitoring pollution, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, and contributing to pollution control policies. Key responsibilities include assessing air quality and enforcing environmental health legislation. The position is hybrid, requiring some onsite work.

A local authority client of mine in the South East of England are seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join their team for an initial 6 month contract with potential view of extension.

The majority of the work will be to to identify, investigate, monitor, and rectify pollution issues across the area, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and contributing to the development of policies related to pollution control.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Identifying, investigating, and monitoring air, land, noise, and water pollution.
• Implementing the Council's Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy.
• The assessment of air quality and implementing air quality strategies.
• Undertaking enforcement duties related to environmental health legislation.
