This position will report to our office location in Jacksonville, FL.
The salary range is $93,000 to $135,000 DOE
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
• Examine, assess, and interpret geologic and hydrogeologic data collected from soil borings, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling
• Create geological models and develop detailed technical reports
• Direct and supervise soil excavations, drilling activities, well installations, and site investigations
• Engage professionally with regulatory agencies, clients, property owners, and other project stakeholders to ensure site access and work schedules are understood and accepted
• Provide field management on multiple projects; some travel will be required
• Supervise other geologists, project managers, and environmental scientists to ensure the successful execution of project tasks
• Manage project financials including budgets and costs
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or a related environmental field
• 10+ years of experience working as an Environmental Geologist
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in all phases of the FDEP Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP)
• Florida Professional Geologist (P.G.) License
• Experience with soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and well installations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Skilled in project management execution and writing proposals and technical reports
• Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
• Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Knowledgeable of FDEP standard operating procedures, CERCLA, RCRA, and other relevant environmental laws and regulations
Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
