Job Description
Pepper Construction is seeking an Environmental Project Manager & Air Sampling Professional to oversee environmental projects, ensuring safety, client satisfaction, and financial success. Responsibilities include project management, leadership, and business development within asbestos, lead, and mold remediation. Candidates must have relevant licenses and experience in the construction-environmental field. The position allows for remote work and travel in Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin, with a target salary of $100,000.

JOB TITLE: LICENSED IDPH, IDEM, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES
PROJECT MANAGER / AIR SAMPLING PROFESSIONAL
POSITION SUMMARY:
Pepper Environmental Technologies, Inc. (PET) Project portfolio includes Asbestos Building Inspections, Operations and Maintenance Abatement Activities, and full-scale Asbestos Abatement. Additionally, PET performs Lead Based Paint (LBP) inspections, abatement and mitigation activities, contaminated soils investigation and removal activities, drinking water testing, radon testing, indoor air quality assessments, mold abatement and remediation, LEED compliance testing, and OSHA compliance monitoring and training (emphasis on asbestos, lead and mold in construction).
PET Project Management personnel are responsible for the overall safety, direction, completion, and financial outcome of environmental projects from initial budget through project closeout. Safety is the number one priority at PET and personnel are expected to promote and exemplify safe work practices. PET Project Managers are expected to work with decision makers to establish operational priorities and ensure a successful project. Project Managers are to maintain positive and effective working relationship with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders both within the Project Team and external support departments.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs.
• Estimate, value engineer and develop environmental project budgets.
• Plan and schedule projects.
• Manage jobs in progress including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation and ensuring quality and safety on every job.
• Manage project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material and equipment; continue to forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures and profits through project completion.
• Perform project closeout and final reporting.
LEADERSHIP
• Provide leadership through building relationships, motivating others, providing clear direction, and cooperative teamwork.
• Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
• Interact with clients and potential clients to identify and pursue potential work.
• Prepare and participate in client presentations and project interviews.
• Negotiate and secure new business.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• IDPH Licensed Project Manager, IDEM Licensed Supervisor and/or Wisconsin Department of Health Services Project Manager.
• B.S. in Construction / Environmental Science or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in construction – environmental field.
• Strong Computer Skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail oriented.
• Willingness to travel and work remote in Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The target salary for this position is $100,000. We consider many factors when determining actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
