About the position

Sovereign Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our team, based out of either our Cherry Hill, NJ or Robbinsville, NJ locations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of environmental management experience, particularly in managing projects related to industrial and chemical sites. This role is critical in ensuring the successful execution of various environmental projects, with a strong emphasis on compliance with environmental regulations and effective project management practices. In this position, the Environmental Project Manager will be responsible for the direct oversight and execution of consulting tasks for remediation projects. This includes interacting with clients, third parties, and regulatory agencies to ensure that all project requirements are met. The successful candidate will also manage project budgets and provide cost-to-closure estimations, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints. The role involves overseeing field activities, which include soil and groundwater sampling, drilling, monitoring well installation, excavations, and the implementation of remedial actions. The Environmental Project Manager will supervise and guide staff-level positions, ensuring that all team members are aligned with project goals and safety standards. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for collecting supplemental site characterization data, reviewing historical files and records, and preparing milestone reports in accordance with New Jersey and other state regulations, as well as EPA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
• Direct oversight and execution of consulting tasks for remediation projects

• Oversight and management of field activities, including soil and groundwater sampling, drilling, monitoring well installation, excavations, and remedial action implementation

• Supervision and guidance of staff level positions

• Preparation of milestone reports per New Jersey/other States/EPA Rules and Regulations

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline
,
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Project Manager with direct oversight responsibilities for remediation projects
,
• Industrial/chemical manufacturing site experience preferred
,
• Familiarity with EPA Rules and Regulations, especially TSCA and RCRA
,
• Extensive knowledge of NJDEP guidance, Rules and Regulations
,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with regard to writing technical reports and contributing to proposal preparation, project scoping, and project budget tracking
,
• Organizational skills and prior experience with MS Office products
,
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training. Current 8-Hour refresher preferred
