Welcome to the State of New York's Department of Environmental Conservation! We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Environmental Program Specialist 1. As an Environmental Program Specialist 1, you will play a crucial role in helping to protect and preserve the natural resources of our beautiful state. We are looking for someone with a strong background in environmental science and policy, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. Conduct research and analysis on environmental issues and policies to support decision making and program development.

Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement environmental programs and initiatives.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing environmental programs and make recommendations for improvement.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on environmental regulations and compliance.

Communicate with community members, businesses, and other government agencies to promote environmental awareness and education.

Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other materials related to environmental programs and initiatives.

Stay updated on current environmental regulations and policies at the state and national level.

Assist in the development and management of budgets, grants, and contracts related to environmental programs.

Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Participate in public meetings, hearings, and outreach events to gather feedback and address concerns related to environmental issues.

Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to coordinate efforts and resources for environmental projects and initiatives.

Maintain accurate and organized records and documentation related to environmental programs and activities.

Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay updated on advancements in environmental science and policy.

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing job duties.

Perform any other related duties as assigned by superiors.
