Responsibilities
• Expand and develop your career by joining our growing firm. This position offers the opportunity to a 2 to 5-year experienced professional to join the team. This role will conduct wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, stormwater pollution prevention plan preparation and inspections, and assist project managers and other teaming associates with permitting, report preparation, and other environmental and regulatory project requirements.
• Help serve clients and communities and provide a vital role to the success of T. Baker Smith, our Environmental Discipline, and to fellow associates, clients, and the community and environment.
• Provide professional, technical day-to-day support and input to the Senior Project Manager(s) and Project Manager(s), and carry out the scope of work in accordance with the proposal and/or the contract terms.
• Provide advanced technical support in the development/completion of assigned environmental projects.
• Assist in the development and coordination of environmental projects.
• Conduct fieldwork for environmental studies and reviews.
• Prepare reports and deliverables utilizing information gathered from fieldwork.
• Contact government agencies or private consultants to obtain information for studies and surveys.
• Coordinate the technical aspects of a variety of environmental and regulatory services.
• Evaluate project quality and review technical reports.
• Work with the project team to achieve the scope, budget, and schedule of the project.
• Organize and maintain project files and maintain a neat and organized work area; maintain current knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and regulations.
• Develop skill sets with assistance from the team for professional development.
• Participate as part of a community of associates; engage in professional development and training.
• Work as part of a team to help others and yourself succeed.
• Participate in proposal efforts and ensure drawings and designs are in accordance with project standards.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver and/or manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in biology, botany, environmental or coastal sciences, forestry, wildlife, fisheries, or a similar field.
Skills: Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization; excellent communication and diplomacy skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret most complex documents; ability to operate computers with technical software, spreadsheets, and other business software. GIS experience is a plus.
Environment: The role involves office and outdoor work; weather exposure; occasional nights away from home, generally planned in advance.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, requiring 40+ hours per week. Nights and weekend commitments to the organization, its associates, and clients are required, but are generally planned in advance.
