About the role

Advocates on behalf of the organization regarding environmental regulation affecting Illinois agriculture, working with state and federal agencies as appropriate. Develops and coordinates the organization's environmental programs, communications and information.

How does this role make an impact?

- Advocates on behalf of the organization in the promulgation, implementation and enforcement of environmental regulation affecting Illinois agriculture, articulating the IFB’s position via clear and compelling verbal and written arguments to both internal and external audiences. - Develops and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with state and federal agencies involved with environmental issues to advance shared goals. - Collaborates with Governmental Affairs & Commodities (GAC) staff to develop and coordinate organizational programs, communications and information involving environmental issues; to advocate on regulatory issues; and to assist country farm bureaus, review and monitor the progress of proposed legislation, and coordinate the organization’s involvement in the implementation/enforcement of regulations regarding environmental issues. - Coordinates communication and projects among various stakeholders and private organizations involved in environmental development and protection. Also, represents agricultural interests on groups and committees of these organizations. - Provides basic information and counsel, as requested, to the IAA Board of Directors, the IAA Resolutions Committee and other organizational policy development sources. - Plans and executes environmental educational programs for county farm bureaus and the Governmental Affairs Leadership Conference, IAA Annual Meeting, and other IFB meetings as appropriate.

Do you have what we're looking for?

Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training. - Normal office environment. - Ability to work flexible hours as needed. - Ability to travel 50% of the time, including some overnights. - Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a car throughout Illinois to attend relevant meetings and fulfill job responsibilities.

Base Pay Range:

$86,400-$118,800

The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
