About the position
The Environmental Planner V at HNTB Corporation is responsible for providing comprehensive environmental support throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure projects. This role involves researching, gathering, and analyzing data, preparing project materials, and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and policies. The position requires collaboration with clients and community stakeholders, leading technical production, mentoring junior staff, and performing quality assurance on project deliverables.
Responsibilities
• Lead internal and external coordination with project team members.

• Conduct and direct research on planning issues and formulate recommendations.
,
• Prepare graphics, technical reports, fee proposals, and responses to RFPs for planning projects.
,
• Create project presentation materials and conduct public meetings.
,
• Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and in-house personnel to complete tasks.
,
• Provide work direction and lead Planners and support staff on assigned projects.
,
• Develop and maintain client meetings and interactions.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering or related field and 8 years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree in the same fields and 7 years of relevant experience.

• Training and experience with NEPA and FHWA Federal Major Projects regulations.

• Prior work experience in environmental impact assessment for federal and state agencies.
,
• Technical expertise in impacts assessment for transportation planning projects.
,
• Experience preparing environmental review documents for complex transportation projects.
Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree in Environmental Management, NEPA Transportation Planning, Environmental Science/Studies, Biology/Ecology, Environmental/Civil Engineering, or related field.

• 8-12 years relevant planning experience within the infrastructure industry.
